Position Overview
This position is at the intersection of computer science, applied mathematics, and biomedical engineering. The position requires a research focus consistent with the thrust areas of the Institute for Information Sciences (I2S). Enhance and expand the research programs in the thrust areas of the I2S by contributing to the development and maintenance of a viable research program. The candidate's research program should contribute to the areas of parallel scientific computing, with experience in several of the following areas: mesh generation, numerical optimization, numerical partial differential equations, and parallel computing. The Researcher will join a project developing parallel high-order meshing algorithms from medical images and parallel high-order numerical finite element methods and near real-time software for computational simulations involving cardiac ablation treatments for arrhythmias.
Initial appointment is for one year, position may be renewed based on satisfactory progress and availability of funding. Job Description 60% - Perform research on parallel high-order meshing algorithms to generate meshes from medical images and parallel high-order finite element methods. Develop near real-time software for computational simulations involving cardiac ablation treatments for arrhythmias.
30% - Develop conference and journal publications and presentations regarding research progress. 10% - Participate in group discussions and meetings with collaborators. Required Qualifications

Advertised Salary Range 58,656 commensurate with experience
