Description
Sigma Defense is seeking a multi-faceted Senior DevOps Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software development systems. The chosen candidate will provide support on various projects with the ability to adapt and prioritize projects being essential. The hired candidate will be an integral and important part of the team and the projects they will support. While this position does not require the Senior DevOps Engineer to develop code for deliverable products, the ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the needs of the software development engineers and be able to automate their tools and administrative tasks. Requirements
- 5+ years of DEVOPS experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with a Linux OS (Red Hat preferred) including version upgrades and Windows OS.
- 5+ years of experience working with CMAKE and setting up C++ build environments.
- 5+ years of experience Installing, testing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS.
- Strong Linux system administration skills.
- Experience setting up and using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Understand and experience using the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA).
- Ability to execute test codes for characterization of software performance.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of configuration management tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and applications.
- Strong shell scripting/Python/Perl experience for solving bespoke integration challenges/creating test scripts.
- General technical knowledge of compute, network, memory, and storage system components.
- Experience using system monitoring tools.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Experience implementing SecDevOps requirements.
- Must be able to work onsite at EWA GSI Mt Laurel, NJ facility.
Personnel Clearance Level:
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
- A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering related field of study.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):
- Design & implement new or improved build pipelines to develop C++ software using CMAKE and Gitlab.
- Assist implemention and administration of issue tracking tools (JIRA or equivalent) and integrate with the build pipelines.
- Assist updating build and test environments to support new versions of Linux and WIndows operating systems.
- Familiarity with updating pipelines and tool chains to meet SecDevOps requirements including Application STIGs and generating verification artifacts.
- Ensure the software meets the high standards required for DoD and other U.S. Government agencies.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Effectively balance multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities to meet project goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve system integration goals.
- Maintain existing software systems by identifying areas for improvement, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to enhance performance and reliability.
- Provide support on various projects, working closely with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software systems, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and regulations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Pursue continuous learning opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge, and apply new insights to improve software systems.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $195,000 annually.
