Clinical Pharmacist Job Responsibilities:
- Completes and documents inspections of all assigned medication storage areas monthly.
- Identifies and replaces outdated/unusable drugs as documented on unit inspection forms.
- Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel.
- Verifies the daily activities of Pharmacy Technicians. Participates in the performance appraisal of Pharmacy Support personnel.
- Organizes and prioritizes work assignments. Ensures Pharmacy services are provided in a timely manner as evidenced by lack of complaints.
Clinical Pharmacist Additional Requirements:
- Work schedule: Monday through Friday vary shift, MUST cover overnights (eq. call outs, PTO etc), no weekends.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, Pharm.D. Preferred, PGY1 Must, PGY2 preferred, must want to be a ASHP residency preceptor
- To be a preceptor for an ASHP residency, you must meet certain qualifications. These qualifications include:
- Demonstrating a desire and an aptitude for teaching that includes mastery of the four preceptor roles fulfilled when teaching clinical problem solving (instructing, modeling, coaching, and facilitating).
- Demonstrating abilities to provide criteria-based feedback and evaluation of resident performance.
- Experience: Licensed pharmacist with at least three (3) years of hospital clinical experience preferred.
- Having completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency and having at least 1 year of practice experience.
- Having completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residency and having at least 6 months of practice experience.
- Licensure: Licensed Pharmacist in the state of VA.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.
