Job Summary
The Process Technology Specialist is responsible for providing engineering solutions that support business objectives, utilizing both internal and external resources as needed. The role includes early-stage engineering tasks such as feasibility studies and option evaluation, collaborating with the Process Design team to develop these efforts into capital projects. You will lead the process design efforts across multiple sites, ensuring business, environmental, and safety goals are met with minimal oversight. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform early-stage engineering, including feasibility studies and option evaluations.

  • Collaborate with the Process Design team to develop solutions into capital projects.

  • Lead process design efforts across multiple sites to achieve business, environmental, and safety objectives.

  • Work effectively in multidisciplinary teams with little to no direct oversight.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of engineering standards and best practices.

  • Ensure safety standards and principles are incorporated into all process designs ("Safety in Design").

  • Provide organized presentations of calculations and results, maintaining clear and orderly records.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in Process Design Engineering or a related field.

  • Knowledge of ANSI, OSHA, NFPA, ASME, API, and other relevant code and regulatory requirements.

  • Extensive knowledge of the chemical industry and process engineering work processes.

  • Commitment to safety practices in the workplace and ability to implement safety standards in designs.

  • Ability to identify root causes of problems and work toward practical solutions.

  • Strong technical and practical competence with a focus on improving chemical processing systems.

  • Proficiency in MS Suite, particularly MS Excel.

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
