Job Summary This role will be a key player in establishing a stable and customer service-oriented team that will help deliver business results for AITX. The main focus of the Security Administrator's role is to oversee and maintain the security of our IT systems and networks. This role is responsible for implementing security protocols, monitoring threats, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, and IT security tools to safeguard our organization's data and infrastructure is required. In addition, this role will assist with both Network and System administration as needed, including: server management, active directory, Microsoft 365, backup & recovery, and other infrastructure related duties. Job Duties Security Administration & Compliance * Design, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures. * Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, SOC 2). * Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability scans. * Develop and enforce access control policies, role-based permissions, and authentication mechanisms. Threat Monitoring & Incident Response * Monitor security systems for threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access. * Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and malware attacks. * Conduct forensic analysis and generate detailed incident reports. * Implement and maintain Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions. Network & Infrastructure Security * Secure network architecture, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions. * Deploy and manage intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS). * Ensure regular updates and patches for security software and hardware. * Conduct penetration testing and work with external vendors to enhance cybersecurity. User Training & Security Awareness * Develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs for employees. * Promote security best practices across the organization. * Conduct phishing simulations and social engineering assessments. Collaboration & Documentation * Work closely with IT teams, legal, compliance, and senior management to strengthen security postures. * Maintain security logs, reports, and documentation. * Provide recommendations for security improvements based on industry trends and best practices. Education and Experience Required: * Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. * 3+ years of experience in IT security administration or a related role. * Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls, etc.). * Experience with firewall management, antivirus solutions, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection. * Proficiency in security tools like SIEM, DLP, MFA, vulnerability scanners, and encryption technologies. * Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security, and access management. * Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred: * Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, CCSP, or GIAC. * Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). * Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation. * Experience with Zero Trust Architecture and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
