ATS is actively hiring a Data Scientist with TS/SCI w/ Polygraph supporting our Engineering Services and Solutions Division in Annapolis Junction, MD. Key Responsibilities: Data Science & Engineering: Lead and execute the development of advanced machine learning models, statistical analyses, and predictive algorithms to identify security threats and anomalies within large, complex datasets. SIEM Expertise: Design, implement, and optimize SIEM solutions, particularly in Splunk and Elastic Search environments, to capture, analyze, and report on security event data. Cyber Security Collaboration: Work closely with the security operations team to integrate data-driven insights into security incident response, threat hunting, and overall security strategy. Data Integration & Management: Manage the integration of diverse data sources into the SIEM systems, ensuring the data is processed and indexed efficiently for analysis. Incident Detection & Response: Develop advanced algorithms for threat detection, alerting, and anomaly detection, focusing on the identification of potential security breaches. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and engineers in the team, fostering a collaborative, innovative work environment. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data science, cyber security, and SIEM systems to drive improvements in security analytics. Create and maintain data models and machine learning algorithms to identify anomalies and potential threats. Design and implement automation workflows for incident response and threat intelligence Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Requirements:
Education: Strongly prefer Bachelor's and Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering or computer science). A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in two (2) or more of the following: designing/implementing machine learning, data mining, advanced analytical algorithms, advanced statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, or software engineering with data analysis software such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB. Pay Range: There are many factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
