We are seeking a qualifiedUSMC Program Support Specialist in Virginia Beach, VA.

Position Description:

The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) PHD Virginia Beach Detachment (Dam Neck, VA) is seeking a USMC Program Support Specialist to provide critical support for U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) systems and programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in program management, logistics, and administrative support for defense or government projects, and will work directly with NSWC PHD teams and USMC stakeholders to ensure successful execution of program objectives. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide programmatic support for USMC-related systems and projects by tracking schedules, milestones, and deliverables. Coordinate with USMC stakeholders and other NSWC PHD teams to ensure effective program execution.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and briefings for program management, leadership, and stakeholders. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation regarding project status, action items, and key deliverables.
  • Coordinate logistics and resources for USMC program activities, including transportation, procurement, and inventory management of equipment and materials. Ensure timely delivery and receipt of program components.
  • Support budget tracking, ensuring program expenses are monitored and compliant with financial constraints. Prepare financial reports, assist with budget forecasting, and ensure that expenditures align with approved budgets.
  • Act as a liaison between the USMC and NSWC PHD departments, ensuring smooth communication and alignment between technical teams, testing units, and program managers.
  • Assist with identifying potential risks to program timelines and objectives and provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that program activities comply with USMC and NSWC PHD regulations, standards, and government policies. Support audits, inspections, and quality control processes to maintain program integrity.
  • Provide administrative assistance to program managers and project teams, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, and following up on action items.
  • Arrange and manage travel logistics for USMC program personnel, ensuring compliance with travel policies and budget constraints.
  • Maintain professional relationships with key USMC stakeholders, providing program updates and responding to inquiries regarding system status, schedules, and other program-related matters.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) roles and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of NAVSEA Warfare Center roles and responsibilities
  • Experience briefing senior leaders on program plans and status.
  • Knowledge of fleet maintenance/modernization processes and organizational responsibilities
  • Possess excellent leadership skills and ability to work with team members and subcontractors from various technical and logistics disciplines.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and common office software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and professional correspondence.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Other Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in program support, project coordination, or administrative roles, preferably within a defense or government contracting environment. Experience with USMC programs or military systems is highly desirable.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of USMC programmatic and operational processes is highly desired.
  • Experience with logistics and resource management within defense programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.

Travel Requirements:

  • Limited travel requirements (<15%)
