JOB SUMMARY: The CNC Mill Operator is responsible for the set up and the operation of the Omag Mills.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Operates and maintains Omag Mills
  • Uses cranes to load and unload work from the machine
  • Loads programs from the network
  • Prepares mill bed with the necessary brackets and risers
  • Levels and aligns stone to axis on mill bed
  • Secures stone using clamps and wedges ensuring mill doesn't make contact with stone during operation
  • Reviews program sheet with stone and shop ticket to verify the correct stone and tools are loaded
  • Jogs mill using touch off block and a dial indicator to set origin according to programmer's notes
  • Assembles mill tools as needed for the program and disassembles tools when the job is complete
  • Monitors machine operation
  • Verifies work quality by applying patterns and measuring stone
  • Uses large hammers and pry bars to position stone on mill bed
  • Assists crane operator in hooking up stone for setting on and removing from mill
  • Performs 5S and Total Productive Maintenance duties on mills, tool bench and work area
  • Works as a team and cross-trains in other areas as needed



SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production
  • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Mechanically inclined
  • General math skills
  • Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings
  • Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric
  • Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed



HIRING BONUS REQUIREMENTS/DETAILS:

  1. The candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements.
  2. Upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, the new hire for weekends will receive:



  • At 60 work days - $500 (must be living our Coldspring values & have no unexcused absences)
  • At 6 months - $1,000 (must be living our Coldspring values & performance expectations)
  • At 1 year - $1,000 for a total of $2,500 (must be living our Coldspring values & performance expectations)
