Overview
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will lead projects for the Residential division of RMR, with a primary focus on acquisitions and disposition of multifamily investment properties. The PM will be responsible for driving the full lifecycle of project delivery, working with a cross functional team including operations, investment and asset management teams while coordinating with other and corporate departments.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution:
- Drive end-to-end project delivery by developing comprehensive project plans that outline goals, strategies, dependencies, risk management, contingency measures, staffing, and scheduling.
- Lead and direct cross-functional teams-including operations, investment, and asset management-ensuring accountability and successful project execution within a large matrix environment.
- Facilitate regular meetings with clear agendas to foster transparent communication and ensure all team members are aligned with project objectives.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Prepare and distribute detailed project status reports to keep stakeholders and management informed, escalating issues proactively when necessary.
- Coordinate vendor activities by monitoring deliverables and ensuring commitments are met, effectively managing third-party relationships.
- Scope & Change Management:
- Manage project scope and the change request process, evaluating the budgetary and strategic impact of changes against original specifications.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and roadmap materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflective of ongoing progress
- Risk & Process Improvement:
- Perform risk analysis and develop contingency plans, ensuring potential issues are identified and mitigated before they impact project timelines.
- Champion and refine corporate processes by introducing creative solutions that enhance team performance and project outcomes.

- Timely and Budget-Conscious Delivery: Achieve project milestones on schedule and within allocated budgets, consistently meeting or exceeding performance targets.
- Enhanced Operational Efficiency: Build and maintain playbooks for every transaction- streamlining project delivery processes to drive measurable improvements in operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Improved Stakeholder Engagement: Foster transparent communication and trust with all stakeholders, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strengthen teamwork across diverse departments and matrixed teams, resulting in a unified approach to multi-family residential project management.
- Risk Mitigation & Strategic Agility: Demonstrate proactive risk management and strategic decision-making that minimizes project disruptions and optimizes outcomes.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience taking project full cycle managing all aspects including scope, resource planning, status reporting, risk management and change control.
- Excellent facilitation, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to all functional groups.
- Demonstrated experience managing vendors to assist in or solely drive project delivery.
- Excellent analytical skills, flexibility, ability to plan and organize, responsiveness, creativity.
- Strong business acumen across multiple business functions (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, etc.).
- Experience with recognized project management tools including MS Project, SharePoint, and structured PM methodologies.
- Ability to perform in fast paced environment.
- Real estate management industry experience a plus.
- PMI Certification or Certified ScrumMaster credentials a plus.
