Position Title:APP - Advanced Practice Provider - Inpatient Adult Palliative Care

Job Description:
Under direction of a physician, provides primary care to patients with medical conditions ranging from general to complex. The Adult Advanced Care Team at OU Health is an interdisciplinary team with expertise in adult palliative care that strives to relieve suffering and improve quality of life for adults with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. General Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Master's Degree in specialized area Experience: Three (3) years' experience in the clinical care of patients with complex medical problems facing end-of-life issues License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) AND a credential to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse with prescriptive authority in the State of Oklahoma. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required with 1 year of hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of practices and procedures of nursing. Good patient assessment and communication skills. Knowledge of the principles and methods of clinic operation and management. Knowledge of proper route for administering medications and dosages levels. Knowledge of Oklahoma's regulatory laws governing prescription drugs. Must be competent in the areas of pain and stress management as well as the management of other serious symptoms.
