The Position

This position coordinates the Displaced Homemakers grant, funded by the Department of Children and Families/ Division on Women (DCF/DOW). Responsibilities include: supervision, delivery, and coordination of day-to-day activities, program leadership, qualifying participants, grant reporting and budget management. The Program Coordinator also organizes and/or redesigns elements of the program as part of the overall implementation and ongoing improvement of the program.

What You Will Do
-
- Oversee the daily operations of the Displaced Homemakers Program (DHP) grant, ensuring full compliance with Department of Children and Families/Division on Women (DCF/DOW) requirements and the effective delivery of services. Stay up-to-date on program policies, grant terms, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance throughout the funding period.
- Provide leadership, instruction, and support to program staff to ensure high-quality service delivery. Coordinate or lead seminars, workshops, and external speaker events on relevant topics, focusing on skill-building and professional development to foster personal and career growth among program participants.
- Chair the Displaced Homemakers Program Advisory Committee, organizing meetings, setting agendas, and preparing progress reports. Collaborate with college administrators to drive program success.
- Represent the program at community events and networking opportunities, advocating for the program, enhancing engagement, and strengthening support within the community.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive evaluation plan to assess program effectiveness and impact, providing regular reports to state and college stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit all required documentation, including reports and renewal applications, to secure continued funding. Maintain accurate program records in compliance with confidentiality regulations and applicable laws.
- Serve as the budget manager for the grant, overseeing expenditures, managing supplies and equipment, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations, program objectives, and college policies.
- Engage with campus and community stakeholders to build and expand resources, referrals, and partnerships that benefit program participants.
- Conduct intake interviews with clients to assess psychological, emotional, and social needs, and develop individualized action plans with clear goals. Connect clients to appropriate community resources and ensure ongoing support.
- Facilitate access to community resources, scheduling appointments and maintaining relationships with partner agencies. Monitor client progress through follow-ups and adjust goals as necessary.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of services available within the college and community, ensuring participants can fully leverage all available resources.
- Related Displaced Homemakers Program grant duties, programs and initiatives as assigned.

The Successful Candidate Must Have
-
1. Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or related academic discipline. 2. Minimum of three years relevant client service experience of which at least two years involved providing direct client services related to one or more education or social service programs. 3. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and group communication skills. 4. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite requiring the ability to create professional documents and detailed reports, and web-based sites.

Even Better If You Have

1. Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or related academic discipline. 2. Experience with social services outreach and marketing strategies, and direct service client programs. 3. Knowledge of career, employment, academic, and personal counseling. 4. Familiarity with the issues related to displaced homemakers and single parents. 5. Bilingual (English and Spanish).
