As a Compliance Consultant with us, you will be responsible for conducting risk management, supporting client/regulator attestations and audits, responding to corrective /remediation action plans, supporting business critical issues, and monitoring changes to laws and regulations to ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates. The Compliance Consultant will conduct compliance oversight activities with a focus on Optum Rx, its subsidiaries, and entities/businesses that are under the Optum Rx management structure.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Respond to client, accreditation, and regulatory compliance program effectiveness audit requests which includes communicating compliance with regulatory standards as well as support any remedial actions
  • Drive compliance communication requirements which include development and execution of a compliance communication work plan and marketing material reviews
  • Ancillary business compliance oversight (e.g. GPO/Rebate Emsiar work plan, OWCA, etc.)
  • Support department compliance programmatic activities, including training escalations, compliance communications, compliance initiatives, etc.)
  • Support the collection of data for regulatory and/or client filings, coordinate and develop reports, projects
  • Predict emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them
  • Conduct state/federal-specific research and monitor changes in requirements to mitigate risks and achieve compliance
  • Establish, mandate and implement standard policies, procedures and best practices across the company to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations


You may have worked in compliance already. But that's not like operating on a global scale. The stakes are high and the changes breathtaking. You will be challenged with thinking strategically as you implement effective compliance program activities. You will be expected to solve unique and complex problems and multi-task various issues.

Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience working in a government, legal, healthcare, managed care and/or health insurance environment
  • Experience communicating complex information via phone conversations and emails to non-technical clients, external customers, internal customers and executives
  • Experience interacting & collaborating with a variety of stakeholders (other team members, internal customers, and executives)
  • Intermediate or better proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with or in Legal, Regulatory, and/or Compliance arena
  • Advanced Excel reporting and data analytics

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
