The Senior Product Manager operates as the product leader for the RCM Re-Imagine initiative. The SPM will partner with the RCM Operations team and other RCM Product Leaders to analyze operating trends and data and identify key opportunities for product innovation/enhancements. The successful SPM has in depth knowledge of RCM technology and industry trends, determines product features and functions based on internal and external needs, and oversees product development liaising with cross functional teams including product management, development, design, operations, marketing, sales and the business. Prepares product documents and supports operations team with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise. Uses market and customer feedback to evaluate product functionality, establish deployment strategies, and drives present/future product direction. Accountable to the P&L including delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs.

The Senior Product Manager may manage a team of product management professionals, providing guidance on product management best practices, coaching, mentoring, and training.

Primary Responsibilities:

The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following are:



  • Partners with Enterprise stakeholders to achieve aligned organizational value performance objectives and building end-to-end connections with corresponding program implementations
  • Influences the product backlog and crafting user stories and sign off on feature acceptance, all the while adhering to the agile process constituted for the managing the project. This Senior Product Manager shall work closely with other product leaders and development teams for the requirements analysis & solutions design
  • May provide leadership to senior level professional staff
  • Articulates and executes an iterative deployment roadmap to delivering value and thought leadership to maximize product effectiveness
  • Creates and clearly articulates vision and roadmaps. Identifies synergies & connection points between the business objective and product delivery, as well as the value created
  • Influences direction setting in a matrixed environment, facilitates decision making and resolves conflicts; Uses an awareness and understanding of the enterprise and its culture, partners with stakeholders to promote and support product vision and goals; achieves consensus on strategies, requirements, and roadmap
  • Challenges current thinking - strikes a balance between innovation and feasibility, usability, and scalability
  • Identifies potential issues with product builds and integrations, pro-actively developing mitigation plans; Assists in removing obstacles, resolves conflicts and ensures alignment with stakeholders
  • Understands and advocates for product requirements across Technical, Business, Operations, Financial and Executive stakeholders
  • Collaborates with Design, Usability, engineering, research and analytics
  • Defines and tracks key performance indications (KPIs) to measure the success of product, iterating based on data-driven insights
  • Conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product differentiation

Required Qualifications:



  • Seeking an expert in healthcare revenue cycle management - 5+ years of experience with healthcare revenue cycle management operations
  • 4+ years of experience in development and communicating project plans and/or roadmaps of activities to achieve the Product Strategy. Experience prioritizing work efforts across matrixed teams to manage the most effective execution of deliverables
  • 4+ years of experience working with multiple teams / stakeholders to gather and document detailed business and technical requirements
  • 4+ years of direct experience conducting process analysis, requirements definition, and use-case analysis and data analytics
  • 3+ years of experience with proven excellent communication and presentation skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to travel up to 10%



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment and possesses knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle
  • Experience performing competitive analysis and market research to stay on top of industry trends
  • Proven desire to challenge the status quo, and solid focus on the voice of the customer
  • Proven solid organization, documentation, change management and project management skills
  • Proven ability to work well within teams and the ability to influence peers, stakeholders and management
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintain a positive attitude

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
