Position Summary

The Office Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Office of Academic Services at NYU School of Law. This individual will provide administrative leadership, overseeing all daily operations of the office such as scheduling, correspondence, and resource allocation. This role will guide office staff through non-routine questions on academic services, registration, course scheduling, and academic policies, serving as a resource for any escalated issues that arise. In addition, the Office Manager will delegate tasks to staff, overseeing the timely completion of projects and ensuring a well-organized and professional environment. The individual will handle complex communications with high-level contacts including faculty, senior administrators, and deans. In addition, the Office Manager will work with the Assistant Dean on the course schedule and provide accurate information on course scheduling inquiries, registration, academic policies, and other relevant topics. The Office Manager will draft correspondences and research applicable policies and history for the Assistant Dean, as well as overseeing communications to students, faculty and staff, including developing communication templates regarding academic updates and deadlines. The individual will also work in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Systems Operations for Academic Services to supervise and train administrative staff and student assistants. This includes fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment and effectively delegating tasks to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of deadlines.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree An advanced degree or coursework in a related field is considered a plus.

Required Experience:
3+ years Experience: 3-5 years of professional-level administrative experience, ideally in academic administration. The candidate should have substantial experience with office management, academic administration, or a related role in higher education, with a focus on student support and academic scheduling.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of student registration systems (e.g., PeopleSoft), academic scheduling, and compliance requirements in a higher education setting, along with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and academic platforms such as PeopleSoft, Brightspace, and Image Now. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective communication are essential, as well as interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and adaptability.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
