Responsibilities The Individual Therapist is responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, and providing clinical support within their assigned program. Essential Duties: Therapy Facilitation: Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for young adults and adolescents based on Newport Healthcare's clinical model. Assessment and Planning: Perform risk assessments and create initial safety plans upon client admission. Complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment and develop a treatment plan within specified timelines. Collaboration: Work with the client's treatment team to coordinate treatment goals and services, including regular reviews and updates of the treatment plan every 30 days. Provide progress updates to parents in collaboration with the family therapist. Crisis Management: Conduct risk or crisis assessments and implement crisis intervention strategies as necessary. Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, group notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to established standards. Team Participation: Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision sessions. Representation and Training: Participate in meetings, training sessions, and conferences, representing Newport Healthcare as required. Qualifications Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required. Board registered (APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA) or Psychologic Associate in the state in which services are provided required. Experience working with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders or trauma-informed treatment preferred.
