Job Description Are you interested in a world class research and materials testing experience applying high performance metals to demanding real-world applications This position involves additive manufacturing of materials for nuclear propulsion applications. You will join a team of experienced engineers with a long history of solving challenging problems. The work includes developing expertise in Additive Manufacturing technologies, materials testing and materials development. The scope of our work covers the full spectrum of Additive Manufacturing, from investigating new technologies and materials, to supporting the production of nuclear plant hardware, to dealing with challenges in production and testing. The successful candidate will have above average writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to draw out the best in others. Specifically, the candidate must be able to collaborate with the team to: * Support ongoing programs including technology development. * Support mechanical testing and material characterization campaigns. * Analyze, interpret, and report results. * Support troubleshooting material issues during component manufacture. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or PhD degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE. Preferred Skills * Experience/understanding involving additive manufacturing processes, materials behavior, and materials properties. * Experience in materials testing and characterization including metallography, mechanical testing, and failure analysis. * Experience with the corrosion of metallics. * Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate technical information both verbally and in writing. * Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. * Experience in materials engineering. Pay Range $83,600.00 - $130,700.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guide line only.
