Network Engineer
LinTech Global Inc. is recruiting for a Network Engineer to support our USPSOIG contract in Arlington, Virginia. Position Overview:
*Support 1100+ users over the phone or by email using on-premises and remote network tools. Respond to support requests, then document the issue, the action taken and the resolution in a ticket management system.
*Work within a tiered structure, assisting junior contractors, while escalating complex issues to more senior team members.
*Serves as the local area network (LAN) administrator for agency-wide LAN systems. Identifies and controls all LAN hardware and software configuration. Develops technical standards and procedures for LAN development, implementation, and management. Establishes performance management metrics. Evaluates overall LAN performance against relevant standards.
*Provides technical advice and consultation to network administrators and engineers throughout the agency.
*Keeps abreast of the rapid evolution of networking technologies.
*Maintains continual vigilance against threats to network confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
*Administers and manages agency Internet protocol management (IPAM) and domain name system (DNS) hardware and software.
*Administers and manages agency firewall configurations, firmware and software patches, network traffic rules, and role-based user accounts.
*Recommends actions to management to avert future challenges to the integrity and availability of the network.
*Mail and track packages sent to customers in the field. Job Duties:
*Mastery of, and skill in developing and managing network architecture and available resources sufficient to plan, design, develop, manage, and enhance highly efficient network systems that respond to the agency's business requirements; and efficiently apply available resources.
*Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field such as Engineering or Computer Science, or 4+ years of relevant work-related experience.
*Mastery of, and skill in developing and managing network architecture and available resources sufficient to plan, design, develop, manage, and enhance highly efficient network systems that respond to the agency's business requirements; and efficiently apply available resources.
*Ability to lift 45 lbs.
*Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues (including, LAN, WAN and VPN)
*Experience providing technical support as part of a corporate or government information technology department. Experience:
* Experience with a Customer Services Management Tool
* Mastery of Cisco Meraki wireless network infrastructure design, hardware installation, and software/firmware administration.
* Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Degree
* IT Certifications (A+, Security +, Network+, CCNA)
* Candidate will possess at least 4+ years of experience administering network systems and services for medium to large size environments (1000+ users); as well as routing and switching, installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network hardware and resources. Company Description
