As an HR Shared Services Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for HR inquiries, providing prompt, knowledgeable, and compassionate support to employees, managers, retirees, and HR teams across all regions. Your work will help ensure our team members have the information and guidance they need-when they need it-to stay focused on what they do best: caring for our communities.


Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Deliver Outstanding Employee Support - Respond to HR-related inquiries via phone, case management system, or web chat, ensuring a timely and accurate resolution in alignment with AskHR service standards.
  • Guide and Empower Employees - Assist team members and leaders in navigating HR systems (Lawson, HRIS self-service tools), understanding policies, and managing employment-related changes such as onboarding, job transitions, and retirement.
  • Advocate and Problem-Solve - Research and clarify policies, address concerns with empathy, and escalate complex inquiries to the appropriate HR Business Partner or Center of Excellence as needed.
  • Enhance Self-Service Solutions - Support the development and expansion of self-service tools to improve efficiency and accessibility for employees and managers.
  • Contribute to Team Excellence - Share expertise, participate in training and team meetings, and continuously seek ways to improve the employee experience.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • Education & Experience:
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 2+ years of experience in customer service, HR, or IT support.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong problem-solving and research skills with the ability to interpret policies and processes.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on professionalism and responsiveness.
    • Ability to handle confidential information and adhere to compliance requirements (HIPAA, OSHA, TJC, etc.).
    • Comfortable working with HR systems and technology, such as Lawson or similar HRIS platforms.
