OVERVIEW

The Slitter Operator is responsible for operating the slitter and maintaining cleanlinessstandardsin the PackagingDepartment.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates Slitter Machine, which sends sugar to re-melt.
• Empties caps generated from slitting process into the Raw Sugar Shed with direction from the Process Department.
• Cleans and wipes down equipment and work surfaces and sanitizes as necessary.
• Assures an organized workplace and removes clutter and waste from the department on a continuous basis.
• Performs other functions as assigned.
• Performs all tasks assigned in accordance with accepted safety and sanitation procedures.
• Work to be completed on rotating shifts. This is NOT an all dayshift position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Must be able to climb ladders, walk and stand constantly, reach, bend, twist, rotate, push and pull frequently, lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 20 lbs. frequently.
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays and overtime as needed.
• Must be able to work in safe manner and follow established procedures.
• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Slitter machine.
• Must be able to work in heat and humidity.
• Standing and lifting. Light to moderate effort.
