Department Overview:

The Enterprise Health and Safety (EHS) Department develops and implements programs that drive improved safety for our coworkers, contractors, and hometowns. One of the programs is PG&E Safety Excellence Management System (PSEMS). PSEMS is the company's integrated management system that provides the framework for how we systematically manage risks to our processes, assets, occupational health and safety. This framework establishes the governance and operational requirements for how we operate our business to generate and deliver safe, reliable, affordable and clean energy for our customers and hometowns.

Job Family:

Safety Program Manager

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

Note: May travel at least 50% of the time across the PG&E territory

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $114,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $182,000.

&/OR

California Minimum: $108,000.

California Maximum: $173,000.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the advancement of PG&E's Safety Excellence Management System (PSEMS) by maintaining highly complex processes to track and support functional area maturity, assessments, and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Develops, implements, monitors and maintains PSEMS requirements, systems, policies and standards required to ensure program compliance
  • Works with cross-functional leads to evaluate and enhance PSEMS program awareness, element integration, and adherence to best in class industry standards
  • Makes presentations to different levels of the organization as well as communicates PSEMS philosophy, information and operational policies and requirements
  • Develops and provides PSEMS training suitable for target audience
  • Supports the development and tracking of program goals and metrics to meet enterprise goals and objectives
  • Collaborates, coordinates, and facilitates program review sessions with leaders and/or functional groups to review schedule and program effectiveness

Minimum Education:

BA/BS or equivalent experience

Education Desired:

MA/MS Degree

License/Certification Desired:

Safety Certification/Management Systems (e.g., CSP, ASP, CHST)

Minimum Experience:

7 years of safety and program development/management experience in a construction or utility environment

  • Ability to solve problems, taking into account the strategic and operational perspective

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, results orientated environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office to analyze results and produce reports
