The Loan Operations Manager directly supervises the staff of the Loan Operations Department. This position is responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training new employees. The Loan Operations Manager plans, assigns and directs work of the Loan Operations team. This position is responsible for appraising performance, rewarding and counseling employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Loan Operations Manager must have thorough knowledge and understanding of lending regulations, bank policies and procedures including all loan systems and programs utilized in the Loan Operations Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Organizes and controls all the day-to-day activities of Loan Operations. This duty is performed daily, about 30% of the time.

2. Oversees the lending CIP, vendor order, loan documentation preparation processes. This duty is performed daily, about 30% of the time.

3. Ensures accurate and timely delivery of loan documentation. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.

4. Maintains accurate and timely delivery of vendor order requests. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.

5. Manages and maintains accurate and timely delivery of lending CIP second reviews. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.

6. Acts as coordinator for conversions and acquisitions as pertains to Loan Operations. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

7. Trains Loan Operations staff on regulatory compliance, policy and procedural updates/changes. This duty is performed as needed, about 15% of the time.

8. Keeps abreast of technical and regulatory developments that affect Loan Operations. This duty is performed monthly, about 10% of the time.

9. Request projects or makes necessary changes to adhere to compliance requirements. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

10. Maintains and updates procedures related to Loan Operations operational duties. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

11. Innovates, recommends, and implements new methods to enhance service delivery to lending staff. This duty is performed monthly, about 15% of the time.

12. Maintains service level standards for Loan Operations. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

13. Partners with technical areas in the research and resolution of loan systems and process problems. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

14. Responsible for interviewing/hiring, annual review, planning, assigning, and directing work of Loan Operations staff. This duty is performed annually, about 5% of the time.

15. Provides assistance in creation of procedures that impact lending staff for tasks related to Loan Operations. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

16. Recommends and provides assistance to management in both external and internal audits/exams as well as Loan Review findings by responding for Loan Operations. This duty is performed as needed, about 15% of the time.

17. Ensures regulatory compliance for all programs utilized within the Loan Operations Department. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.

18. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.

19. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed annually, about 5% of the time.

20. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization. ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Supervises an extra-large group (25+) of employees who are engaged in similar activities in one or more departments.
