U.S. Data Analytics - Specialist

Aon is seeking a U.S. Data Analytics - Specialist based out of headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chicago office.

What the day will look like

  • Identify business trends with data analytics.
  • Build and refine data collection methods as well as outputs and analytics.
  • Utilize and manipulate large sets of data to determine relevant indicators that can be leveraged into trend and insight reports.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards using data visualization software including Power BI and Tableau.
  • Analyze, organize, and visualize data using database management concepts and database structures; Excel, Access, and VBA; and programming languages including SQL and Tableau.
  • Develop technology and data analytics solutions using knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
  • Configure cloud-based data platforms and solve technology challenges.
  • Define and validate KPI and business metrics.
  • Identify and implement automation processes to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency. Interpret business needs and translate into functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Define and validate KPI and business metrics.
  • Build database systems using relational databases and SQL.
  • Gather, aggregate, clean, and validate data from multiple sources using ETL processes and Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications:

  • This position is available to Seniors graduating between Spring 2024 - Spring 2025

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Proficiency with SQL, Tableau, or Power BI, preferred.
  • Great teammate with independent work capability
  • Results-oriented focus
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills

  • Preference for candidates with event planning experience or who wish to learn event planning

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $20.50 - $26.50 hourly. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

Aon offers a benefits package for temporary and seasonal employees who will work 20 or more hours per week including: medical, dental, and vision insurance at the employee's expense, critical illness insurance, 10 Company holidays per calendar year (paid, if eligible), paid sick leave as provided under state and local law, and a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions. Eligibility for benefits are governed by the applicable plan documents and policies.
