MDS Architecture Engineer (CAD)
Contingent upon prime contractor approval
Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an MDS Architecture Engineer in Huntsville, AL. In this role you will support the Missile Defense Agency's Advanced Architectures Design (MDA/CAD) office working to define the future of Missile Defense through development, analysis, and communication of future Regional Missile Defense Architectures. As contract support, you will also be responsible for coordinating and assisting the development of joint architectures addressing regional missile defense against ballistic, hypersonic and cruise missile threats to protect Warfighters and allies.


Job Description:


  • Develop and coordinate comprehensive regional missile defense courses of action (COA) for future architectures to defeat evolving threats.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings and supporting data in support of ARPs.
  • Assist with identifying, defining, and prioritizing missile defense architecture gaps, challenges, needs, opportunities, and potential system mitigations.
  • Develop regional missile defense Blue Force and Red Force laydowns as well as intel-informed raid scenarios using a pacing threat set.
  • Develop measures of effectiveness and architecture needs statements and coordinate iterative analysis on these architectures.
  • Analyze and document performance of architecture options and future concepts implemented in these scenarios.
  • Assist in the development of top-level architecture needs documentation to support requirements development as well the acquisition of new capabilities and prototypes.
  • Develop and review technical memorandums, white papers, and briefings supporting findings and conclusions of analyses.
  • Support working groups and technical interchange meetings to coordinate across the community a variety of topics to include: Future concepts, architecture needs, and data exchange.
  • Provide regular input in support of government leadership to reports and weekly charts involving task status, action item tracking, risks, and schedule.
  • Plan and execute projects involving prime contractors, other MDA offices, and FFRDC/UARC partners.
  • Support the evaluation of future architecture elements and technology enablers that support ballistic, hypersonic and cruise missile defense.


Qualifications


  • Must have Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • Must have a Minimum of 7+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to work independently and/or lead teams to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Must have the capability to develop and clearly present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel.
  • Must be a pro-active, self-starter.


Desired Qualifications


  • Working knowledge of Missile Defense Systems (MDS) components, architectures and concepts, preferred.
  • Familiarity and past experience with MDA and/or other complex MDS Elements, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Systems Engineering processes including Model-Based Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering strategies, preferred.
  • Experience in a military operational environment, preferred.
  • Work independently, applying engineering rigor to analyze and resolve problems within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferred.
  • Ability to self-manage and initiate within team structure, preferred.
  • Ability to decompose complex problems into actionable elements, preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate efforts in a timely manner across multiple organizations, preferred.
  • Ability to present complex information and concepts to leaders at various levels, preferred.
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance, preferred.
  • Preferred Navy veteran that held a position such as an Aegis Weapon System EDO or Joint Interface Control Officer, or alternatively an Army/Air Force veteran that understands MDS Elements such as THAAD/LTAMDS/Sentinel/ PATRIOT/GMD


Security Requirements:


  • Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.


Travel Requirements:


  • Up to 10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to work in an office environment
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
