We have an opportunity for a New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to join our New Product Innovation & Development Engineering team in Brookfield, WI. This business manufactures both water filtration (Point-Of-Use) and complete water systems (Point-Of-Entry) products used in residential and light commercial applications. We are looking for a creative, curious, solution-minded individual to be on the ground level of a wide range of product development activities; from design and development, to prototyping and testing, to working with a cross-functional team to drive an idea from concept to production. ** You will work a hybrid work schedule for this position, with at least 3 days/week onsite in Brookfield, WI. ** #LI-Hybrid

You will:

  • Focus on incremental, derivative new product development (NPD) growth opportunities and initiatives from concept to post release with strong sense of urgency and action.
  • Work alongside strategic marketing to identify and gain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, market trends, customer needs and identify growth opportunities.
  • Design and develop prototypes with scopes ranging from specific concepts to comprehensive, functional products.
  • Own essential design aspects such as specifications, 3D modeling, and perform critical testing & analysis.
  • Execute design validation process through prototyping, field & lab testing, fixture design and design-of-experiments.
  • Collaborate with other Pentair global design & manufacturing centers as well as strategic suppliers.
  • Create and sustain pre-release drawing packages and product specifications with accuracy.

Key Qualifications:

  • Have earned a bachelor's (B.S.) degree in engineering, mechanical preferred.
  • Have 5-10 years of professional engineering experience, which will include multiple years of product design experience in a moderate to high-volume production / product development environment, including hands-on prototyping and testing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to move design changes from concept to shop floor.
  • Working knowledge of CAD design and simulation tools (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Working knowledge of machining, tolerances, fits & finishes, and GD&T.
  • Familiar with PPAP's, DVP&R's, DFMEA's and PFMEA's.
  • Experience with plastic materials and plastic part design preferred.
  • Regulatory agency experience (UL, CE, NSF) a plus.
  • Willingness and flexibility for domestic and international travel (up to 25% as needed).

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $82300 - $152800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as annual incentive bonus.
