Title: Associate Director - Business Solutions Group

$85,000 - $100,000 / Posted Thru: 3-16-25

Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Live and Work in Michigan

Purpose: Under the direction of the Business Solutions Group (BSG) Program Director, this position will be responsible for contract management, financial oversight, business development, and carrying out programmatic and administrative leadership. The Associate Director will work with the Program Director to ensure that the center projects are in line with the strategic vision for BSG and MPHI as a whole and will provide strategic leadership, program and project planning, client relationships management, and program and project implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Provide the BSG Program Director with project updates on the completion status of tasks, ongoing activities, and project issues.
  • Assist the BSG Program Director in the administrative duties of the center including contract management, financial oversight of assigned projects, documentation, and reporting of project activities as required.
  • Partner with the Program Director to guide the development of program goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Coordinate, develop, and monitor assigned project work plans, timelines, budgets, contracts, and reports.
  • Support the identification and utilization of technological solutions for advancing the work of the center.
  • Regularly correspond with clients, subcontractors, funding agencies and project partners.
  • Support continuous quality improvement across the program.
  • Lead program wide budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support staffing activities and decisions.
  • Document and report on program activities to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) as requested.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration across MPHI.
  • Build strong relationships with current clients and partners and identify other potential areas of partnership and project growth.
  • Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities that align with BSG goals and objectives.
  • Participate in responses to Requests for Proposals.
  • Serve on task forces, committees, and work groups as appropriate.
  • Attend conferences and meetings as assigned.
  • Create and conduct presentations as needed to audiences that may include clients, external and internal partners, conference attendees, public health professionals, business associates, and other audiences as assigned.
  • Develop expertise in emerging areas of public health as needed to provide appropriate guidance to project teams in implementing project work.
  • Establish and maintain positive, strong, credible, professional and interpersonal relationships with all parties relevant to MPHI projects.
  • Maintain and represent the best interests of MPHI at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned



Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: Possession of a master's or bachelor's degree in business, management, public health administration, or other related fields. An MBA is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in an equivalent position of this type including experience working with funding partners, contract management, project budgets, and financial administration.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Job involves viewing a computer screen 75% to 100% of the time.

This position may be 100% on-site in Okemos, Michigan, 100% remote, or a hybrid of remote and on-site. If the position is remote or hybrid, a highspeed and reliable internet connection is required.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: No assigned responsibilities currently. Position may grow to include supervision of direct reporting staff.

IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This position directly impacts the quality of products, and the performance of project teams. It has substantial impacts on the integrity and quality of MPHI products and activities. Competent performance in this position has a substantial impact on the integrity and professional reputation of MPHI including meeting the needs of MPHI clients in a timely manner, maintaining professional relationships, and enhancing the future potential future contracts with clients.
