Overview
The Warehouse Manager of a single customer facility assumes ownership of all warehouse operations including logistics and production scheduling, staffing, training and development of warehouse personnel. Manager is responsible for meeting and exceeding cost, quality, safety, and customer service targets.
Responsibilities
This is a single customer facility
- Ensure that all shipments are processed in a timely matter
- Responsible for achieving budgeted goals, including profitability, efficiency, and revenue support.
Learn the customer's specific furniture types, nomenclature, and minimum/maximum inventory stock needed - Establishes and implements quality assurance processes to ensure correct production of customer selected components.
- Monitors and manages inventory control procedures and processes including replenishment, cycle counting, inventory substitutions, inventory movements, shipping and receiving to achieve company objectives.
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, selecting, training, developing, evaluating, disciplining, and terminations.
- Implement programs, systems, processes, initiatives, etc. in an efficient and effective manner
- Reduce expenses by assuring proper cost controls are in place and functioning properly.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of the annual operating budget and facility needs.
- Properly staff and control labor hours based on budget pricing structure
- Study and analyze key metrics to establish performance standards, identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, ensure inventory utilization, and identify opportunities to maximize revenue objectives.
- Oversee the asset management system, including utilization of the system, training of associates on use of the system, working with Supervisors to ensure that production plans completed daily.
- Assure all assets are secured, maintained, and handled appropriately to minimize product damage, property loss, and work-related injuries.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior experience running a warehouse facility (45k+ sq. ft.)
- Quality control and/or inventory management experience/certifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, and other related tools.
- Bi-lingual candidate a plus
- A minimum of five years' supervisory experience in a warehouse environment
- Strong people-to-people skills
- The ability to effectively communicate with the staff and have good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to direct subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- The ability to work independently and with general guidelines
- The ability to maintain a safe work environment
- A positive, energetic, hands-on, on-the-floor personality
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Problem solving skills and communication of solution
- 1-2 years of forklift experience, preferred
- Strong work ethic
