Job Overview

The Senior Director of Global Distribution and Supplier Controls leads and oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems and compliance within Global Logistics and Supplier Controls. The role ensures adherence to medical device regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820) while optimizing supplier and distribution quality processes.

The Senior Director of Global Distribution and Supplier Controls is responsible for designing and executing quality strategies that enhance supplier oversight, drive supply chain excellence, and ensure the seamless distribution of medical devices in compliance with global regulatory requirements. This position partners with executive leadership, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to reinforce quality performance, risk management, and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties




  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive Supplier and Distribution/Logistics Quality framework, ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements. Establish and monitor key performance metrics to evaluate supplier and distribution/logistics quality performance.
  • Supplier Controls & Compliance: Oversee supplier qualification, audits, and corrective action processes. Ensure effective supplier risk management, drive supply chain excellence, quality agreements, and compliance monitoring to maintain product integrity and regulatory adherence.
  • Global Logistics Quality Oversight: Implement and enhance quality controls within global logistics operations, focusing on product traceability, storage, transportation, and handling throughout distribution channels to meet regulatory and customer requirements. Oversight responsibility for Getinge distribution centers.
  • Audit & Risk Management: Develop and maintain supplier and distribution audit programs, ensuring suppliers and logistics partners meet regulatory standards. Lead proactive risk assessments and drive continuous improvements to reduce non-conformances.
  • Resource Management: Optimize resource allocation, ensuring efficient execution of quality initiatives. Lead and mentor teams responsible for supplier and distribution quality management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of quality excellence by identifying and driving process improvements. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce variability, and strengthen supply chain resilience.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthen internal and external communication on supplier and distribution quality issues. Collaborate with suppliers, distribution partners, and cross-functional teams to drive alignment and compliance.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events, regulatory forums, and supplier quality conferences to stay informed on evolving trends and regulatory expectations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Build Quality into all aspects of Getinge's work by maintaining compliance with applicable quality requirements as defined in the GetQMS directives.


  • Minimum Requirements



  • Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Quality Management, or other related science discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience is required).
  • A minimum of 12 years related experience in the medical device field.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management System operations and application of the Regulations, ISO standards, and management controls.
  • Experienced auditor with appropriate auditing certifications is required (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820). FDA or Notified Body experience highly valued.

  • Experience in Consent decree and remediation activities preferred.


  • Experience in Global logistics and supplier quality.
  • Strategic QMS thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing global teams and fostering a culture of operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities at all levels within the Getinge, with experience engaging with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
  • Project Management experience required.
  • IT skills related to operating various Microsoft and other systems.


The base salary for the position is a minimum of $200,000 and a maximum of $275,000 plus an annual bonus of 35%
