Description
WHO WE ARE: Cornerstones of Care is a mental and behavioral health nonprofit certified in trauma-informed care that provides evidence-based prevention, intervention, treatment, and support services to help children and families improve their safety and health by making positive changes in their lives. Each year, our team empowers children and families in Kansas, Missouri, and beyond through three key service areas:
- Youth & Family Support - We help youth gain independence through social and living support programs while empowering families with the skills and resources they need to become resilient and successful.
- Foster Care & Adoption - We reunify and unite families while recruiting and providing support to foster parents and youth in foster care.
- Education & Community Trainings - We help students achieve academic success while giving educators the tools to create safe learning environments to improve their students' behaviors and offer innovative learning opportunities to build and improve knowledge in the community.
We are seeking a Mental Health Provider to join our team. Your role is part of a groundbreaking early childhood mental health collective moving forward mental, emotional and behavioral care for birth age through preschool children, families and team members at a local early childhood program. As a part of this early childhood mental health collective, you will support students and families in your assigned childcare center to address personal, emotional and social problems that interfere with development and school success. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide individual, family, group interventions and /or wrap-around case management support in addition to crisis management as indicated.
- Consult with and provide professional development to school team members and parents to increase knowledge of trauma informed interventions in the school setting to enhance understanding of trauma informed care.
- Utilize the Conscious Discipline model to observe and assess the child to support both the teacher and parents. If you are currently not trained in this model we will train you.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING: Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience working with this population and the following:
- Master's degree in human behavioral science which includes 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours either in development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques, such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development, familiar with implications of trauma, attachment and diversity.
- Licensed (e.g. LMSW, PLPC, LMFT) or currently working towards your licensure.
- At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical and drug screening
- A valid driver's license, proof of current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
Starting Salary: $58,000 - $64,000 (Annually) Bonus: $4,600 ($2,600 sign-on bonus will be paid on your first check and $2,600 retention bonus will be paid after 12 months of service) CORNERSTONES OF CARE'S BENEFITS: Cornerstones of Care offers a competitive benefits package, which includes:

- We will provide your clinical supervision and pay for you to receive your training and supervision towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
