Pay: $18/hour

Shift available: Must be flexible and able to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends if needed

The Finger-Joint Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the de-stacking line to supply the Finger Jointer. You will operate the vacuum lifter, manage board orientation, and serve as the last lumber quality checkpoint before boards enter the Finger Jointer.

Responsibilities:

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for grading lumber to meet SmartLam product guidelines and APA PRG-320 standards.
• Operate the de-stacker line efficiently.
• Flip boards to manage wane and board orientation.
• Reject boards that do not meet product requirements.
• Support the Finger Joint Operator as needed.
• Ensure production schedules and goals are met.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experienced machine operator
• Must know how to read a tape measure and perform basic math
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for an entire shift
• Proficient in identifying and differentiating between lumber species and grades
• Reliable with excellent time and attendance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience as a lumber grader is a plus
