Industrial Firefighter - El Paso, TX

IMMEDIATELY HIRING! Industrial Firefighter FULL-TIME Opportunity

Salary: $23.80 per hour, ($54,454/average annual compensation)

Work Hours: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7 days on / 7 days off)

We are hiring an Industrial Fire Captain with proven leadership experience in the emergency medical/occupational health service and a demonstrated commitment to cultivating a positive, collaborative work environment. You must be a willing teacher and coach, comfortable with rapidly developing changes, and know what it takes to instill a healthy sense of pride and ownership on your team and be comfortable in a command role.

Job Summary:

Under direction of the Battalion Chief, the Industrial Fire Captain will support the Marathon Petroleum Refinery (MPC) ES&S staff to ensure responsive fire/ems support in accordance with company and customer policies and procedures.

This is considered a safety sensitive position and is subject to both, the Company's and the Client's Industrial Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing and follow-up testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Medical:

  • Emergency medical response and treatment. (EMT-Basic level of care)
  • Maintenance, inventory, ordering and resupply of all medical response equipment.
  • Creation, maintenance, and implementation of emergency medical response preplans.
  • Engage in, attend, and instruct emergency medical response training.
  • Maintain compliance with all MPC policies and procedures
  • Maintain all medically related required credentials and certifications.
  • Meet or exceed all MPC emergency medical response industry best practices.

Firefighting:

  • Emergency fire response and incident mitigation (initial tactical operations).
  • Maintenance, inventory, inspection, testing and resupply of all firefighting equipment.
  • Inspection, repair, testing and maintenance of firefighting apparatus and PPE.
  • Inspection, repair, testing and maintenance of MPC fire supply/suppression systems.
  • Creation, maintenance, and implementation of firefighting response preplans.
  • Engage in, and attend firefighting response training.
  • Maintain compliance with all MPC policies and procedures,
  • Maintain all firefighting related required credentials and certifications.
  • Meet or exceed all MPC Firefighting industry best practices.

Rescue:

  • Emergency industrial response and rescue.
  • Maintenance, inventory, inspection, testing and resupply of all rescue equipment.
  • Inspection, repair, testing and maintenance of rescue PPE.
  • Creation, maintenance, and implementation of emergency rescue response preplans.
  • Engage in, attend, and instruct emergency rescue response training.
  • Maintain compliance with all MPC policies and procedures,
  • Maintain all rescue related required credentials and certifications.
  • Meet or exceed all MPC Rescue industry best practices.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Certifications

  • Current NFPA 1001 Firefighter I or Industrial Firefighter Level 1.
  • Current or ability to obtain NFPA Fire Instructor I (State, IFSAC or Pro-Board issued)
  • Current EMT-Basic or higher (State or National Registry issued).
  • Current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers
  • Confined Space Rescue
  • Completion of NIMS ICS-100, 200, 700, and 800 at time of hire.

Experience:

  • Must be able to work any shift assigned, including nights, holidays and weekends to include scheduled and unscheduled overtime and as needed on an emergency basis.

Education:

  • Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED certificate.

Licensing:

  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy. DUI within last 5 years is disqualifying.
  • Must pass FBI fingerprint-based criminal history records check to obtain/maintain an Industrial/customer security badge
