Hitachi Rail Honolulu JVis looking for an enthusiastic self-motivatedHSE Advisorto work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based inPearl City, HI. Accountabilities:
- Contribute to establishing, documenting, implementing, maintaining and continually improving the HSE Management System implemented on the Project in compliance with current FTA Standards, OSHA Regulations, GBMS Standards, and Local Procedures.
- Contribute to the implementation of the activities in compliance with HSE Policies, HSE Legislative requirements, HSE Customer Requirements and the HSE Management System of HRH.
- Contribute to the completion of HSE hazard identification and risk assessment and the determination of necessary controls measures.
- Contribute to the implementation of the HSE Compliance and Management System Audits; * Contribute to the development the HSE Programs to achieve the planned HSE Objectives and Targets and areas of regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to HSE Local Communication, Participation and Consultation including development and engagement of a site safety committee.
- Contribute to the identification of emergency scenarios and development of appropriate emergency response measures.
- Ensure the monitoring, reporting, and communication of HSE performance and provide recommendations and solutions in the event of negative trends.
- Ensure that all HSE accidents and incidents are reported, investigated and analyzed for the purpose of learning from incidents.
- Contribute to the identification of findings, nonconformities, and corrective and preventive actions; * Ensure that Rail Operations Center facility and all stations are inspected on regular base in compliance with the HSE Management System and OSHA Regulations.
- Work cross-functionally to support a wide array of operational activities and engage leaders and employees from across the business.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree * OSHA 511, OSHA 30 General Industry, or equivalent training and competency in General Industry Regulations.
- Communication, presentation and training Development and Delivery Experience.
- Experience engaging stakeholders from across all disciplines in the HSE Program.
- Experience implementing programs and policies within ISO 14001 and 45001 Certified Organizations.
- Experience developing and implementing site safety programs.
- Demonstrated ability to inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for compliance with corporate and legislative requirements, standards, and regulations.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and promote a harmonious safety environment.
- Ability to complete written reports and electronic communications expeditiously and with a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism while in the field.
- Computer proficiency with a strong knowledge of PCs and software applications related to the work, such as MS Office, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, etc.
- A valid non-probationary Driver's License.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and take action on safety-related issues, conduct root cause incident investigations and handle both uncomfortable and sensitive situations.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Rail Experience in Public Transit.
- Transit Safety and Security Program (TSSP) Complexation.
- Public Transportation Safety Certificate Training Program (PTSCTP).
- OSHA 501 Completion.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or STEM related field.
- Master's Degree in an Occupational Safety and Health Discipline.
- Accreditation by the Board of Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) as a Certified Instruction Training. (CIT or Safety Mangement Specialist (SMS)
- Lead ISO 14001 and 45001 Auditor Certification.
- Experience with Human and Organizational Performance Management techniques.
The salary range for this position is $80,400 - 120,600. Final pay is determined by the candidate's experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location. Note: In accordance with the DOT's FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi's substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.
