Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Loader/Unloader to join our team on 2nd shift in Holland, MI. As a Loader/Unloader, you will:
- Utilizing powered industrial trucks (PIT), loads and unloads final product using proper load techniques to ensure accuracy for multi-stop loads. May provide material handling support to manufacturing workstations. Creates picklists, monitors inventory.
- Schedule is from 2:50pm-10:50pm, Monday-Friday. OT is from 2:50pm-12:50am, Monday-Friday and potential Saturdays from2:50pm-10:50pm.
Required Qualifications
- 8th grade education or higher
- The ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance
- The ability to lift items weighing up to 50lbs without assistance
- Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck (hilo) certification
- 2 years or more of hilo/forklift experience
Major Responsibilities
- Operates PIT strictly adhering to Haworth safety standards.
- Accesses electronic production and warehousing systems to create pick lists. Backtracks pick process to verify or fix input or scan errors. Verifies inbound & outbound order specs.
- Processes purchase orders, completes warehousing transactions and ensures inventory accuracy. Resolves discrepancies.
- Operates PIT to pick, deliver and stage correct product to correct location.
- May fulfill orders for "Quick Ship" process for FedEx: accesses system to obtain order data, picks and packages components, and stages for pick-up.
- Unloads inbound material, loads final product, securing loads using proper techniques and stack factors to maximize trailer square footage.
- Inspects packaging and verifies labeling data.
- May communicate with internal and external vendors to determine inbound and outbound schedules.
- In Distribution Center, follows inbound dashboard to prioritize next inbound delivery to unload.
- Orders parts/supplies within inventory system or locates on floor, ensuring inventory is accurate. Delivers, stocks and completes putaways.
- Prepares orders for final shipping, systematically and physically.
- Builds wooden crates for custom orders using saws, nail guns and other power tools.
- Resolves and documents production nonconformance issues.
- Completes daily inspection PIT checklist, and performs routine battery maintenance. May change propane tanks.
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
- Ability to utilize appropriate electronic production system/warehouse system to complete job duties, as well as current technology tools, e.g. personal computer (PC), tablet, keyboard, mouse, RF gun.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good visual and depth perception.
