Powertrain Calibration Engineering is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to fulfill the role as Base Calibration Manager. The Base Calibration Manager is responsible for leading a group of engineers, conducting performance reviews, mentoring new engineers to ensure propulsion systems function. The Base Calibration Manager will plan resources, timelines and lead base calibration development work for a group of 5-10 engineers.

The Base Calibration Manager is responsible for overseeing the team that generates optimal base engine calibrations meeting all the program objectives in terms of performance, control stability, lowest fuel consumption whilst minimizing the engine out and tailpipe emissions levels. The setup and control of all engine sensors and actuators for all engine operating conditions under both steady state and transient engine operation is part of the team's responsibilities. The calibration manager is also responsible for confirming the team successfully completes the required engine hardware and systems testing and supporting all other teams with their standardized and specialized engine test requests. The responsibilities will be carried out across all the different propulsion system concepts and will include varying levels of electrification of the driveline.

The calibration manager will oversee the team's coordination of day-to-day activities of an engine and powertrain dynamometer and collaboration with technicians and laboratory support engineers. In addition, test plans and timelines will be developed, and reports generated to communicate the status of the program to the larger development and management teams. Evaluations will occur with new engine hardware and powertrain technologies for future and carry over applications. Data analysis oversight to solve complex system problems as they relate to engine performance, fuel consumption, emissions, and base engine calibration development.

This individual will have also demonstrated the ability to work well with others. They must be a team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments versus personal achievement.
