Brief Description: The HR Advisor is responsible for performing general Human Resources related duties in support of regional operations and corporate HR. Specific areas of focus may include recruitment/onboarding, employee relations, training, employee tracking and reporting and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and processes. This role will work under the direction of the Sr. Regional HR Manager and area HR lead and will specifically align and coordinate activities with other functions both within the region and corporate. Detailed Description:
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with employees at all levels within the region and organization.
- Assists HR and Operations team in tracking employee rig assignments and facilitating transfers based on business needs.
- Runs and reconciles various reports from MS Excel (Pason vs. Oracle, etc.) and Oracle HCM on a daily basis.
- Submits employee status changes such as transfers, separations, promotions, etc. and maintains electronic files.
- Assist operations with developing and maintaining hiring forecasts.
- Work with the Talent Acquisition team, HR team and managers throughout the recruiting process to open job requisitions, facilitate candidate interviews, and partner with Shared Services team to oversee and review applicant's status utilizing the Company's applicant tracking system in compliance with established process requirements.
- Coordinate the new hire on-boarding process, I9 completion and new hire orientation.
- Provide various HR related reports to management such as hiring activity, EEO reporting, metrics and statistics, or other reports as required.
- Assist with Reductions in Force and coordinate replacement employees with the Operations Department.
- Conduct exit interviews and input data into the system as required.
- Partner with HR to assist with employee investigations.
- Administrative duties or other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Occasional travel which may require overnight stay(s) outside normal office hours.
- Ability to safely navigate drilling rig work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during normal rig operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) including proper use of designated personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to work effectively with all levels of leadership, hourly employees and peers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills which include the ability to speak, write and listen in a manner that clarifies issues, promotes closure and delivers information in a clear and concise manner and facilitates good decision-making is required.
- Ability to maintain Company and employee confidentiality at all times and handles sensitive employee information and protect Company proprietary information in an appropriate manner.
- High level of energy needed for a fast paced environment where multiple initiatives are happening simultaneously.
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to run reports and analyze results.
- Advanced skills in MS Office tools and resources, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- Understanding of HR processes, practices, legal and regulatory legislation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in Human Resources
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to present HR initiatives and training materials and information to management and employees
- Experienced in working in an applicant tracking system
- Bilingual, English and Spanish
- PHR or SHRM-CP
Additional Details: Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, or climb stairs with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment. Frequent travel to other Company offices and drilling rig work sites, often in remote locations, is required during normal rig operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather), and employee will be expected to properly use designated personal protective equipment (PPE).
