Job Summary
This position oversees three steel manufacturing plants and reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing. The role will lead a team of manufacturing managers and drive strategic initiatives to achieve business objectives. Responsibilities include executing business plans, contributing to functional strategies, and making key production and quality decisions across locations. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for driving the North American steel strategy through partnering with business units, while ensuring each plant meets key performance indicators.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships:Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers, vendors, and industry leaders to leverage their expertise, resources, and capabilities.
- Develop and implement corporate-wide manufacturing strategies:Develop and implement corporate-wide manufacturing strategies, policies, and standards to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across all facilities.
- Drive a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive organizational change and transformation:Lead and manage organizational change initiatives within the manufacturing function, effectively communicating the vision and driving adoption of new technologies, processes, or methodologies.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement:Create and nurture a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing organization, driving a relentless pursuit of operational excellence.
- Lead and direct multiple manufacturing plants or departments:Provide strategic direction and leadership to multiple manufacturing plants or departments, aligning their efforts with overall business objectives and ensuring consistent performance across the organization.
- Manage large-scale budgets and capital expenditures:Oversee the allocation and management of large-scale budgets and capital expenditures for manufacturing operations, equipment, and infrastructure.

- Represent the organization as a manufacturing expert:Serve as a manufacturing expert and representative of the organization at industry events, conferences, or with external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant field of study
- Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years operations leadershipexperience OR 4 additional years operational leadershipexperience
- 7 years operational leadershipexperience with Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years operational leadershipexperience with Master's Degree
- 3 years supervisory experience
- Posses the ability to spend significant time on the factory floor or in the warehouse with exposure to heat, dust, noise, moisture, or other environmental conditions
- Ability to travel overnight away from "home" offices, including internationally, up to 25%of time (This includes day trips regionally)
- Applicants must be able to work on-site in Holland, MI.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- 10 or more years of Operational Leadership experience
- Furniture industry experience
- Experience running multiple sites
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
- Working knowledge of quality, manufacturing planning, inventory control, engineering documentation systems, and operational financial systems.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9000 certified quality control systems, lean manufacturing principals, Just in Time (JIT), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Total Process Management (TPM), team based environments, and continuous improvement.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC), team organizational structure and leadership principals, and materials management techniques.
- Proven leader in successfully managing large numbers of people, projects, resources, and complexity, achieving superior results.
- Passion for excellence; always looks for improvement.
- Demonstrated dedication in keeping current with improvements in manufacturing and distribution technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- PC and keyboard/mouse skills required.
