PRIMARY FUNCTION The Aircraft Structural Mechanic III is responsible for assessing/repairing damage to aircraft structural and composite components. Must be able to utilize advanced metalworking practices and depot level techniques. Must be highly proficient in close tolerance drilling/reaming for installation of high-strength fasteners. Expert in the use of powered / non-powered metalworking tooling and equipment. Essential Duties
- Perform preflight, post-flight, and phase inspections, inspecting and maintaining various systems, fuel, flight controls, prop rotor (to include weight and balance), utility, and power plants.
- Perform acceptance inspections of critical flight control components after return from rework or upon receipt from the manufacturer as well as aircraft acceptance and transfer inspections.
- Perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance of CV-22 aircraft.
- Perform complex system/sub-system troubleshooting.
- Perform completion of O, I, and D -level aircraft modifications/time compliance technical orders and one-time inspections.
- Perform flight line driving/towing of aircraft/equipment.
- Additional duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have direct reports. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Highly skilled in depot level processes and procedures for replacement of major structural components.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, technical documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.
- Highly knowledgeable of aircraft construction features, identification and characteristics of aerospace materials to include proper use, mixing, and storage of acids, solvents, alcohol, caustics, primers, and paints, and proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
- Extensive knowledge in fabrication and depot repair / replacement of metal components, tubing, fiberglass, bonded honeycomb, and composite structural components.
- Intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.
- Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew members.
- Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
- Ability to follow processes.
- Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista goals.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to multi-task.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS.
- Must have a passport or be able to obtain one.
- Minimum of five years continuous aircraft maintenance in an aircraft mechanical specialty on any fixed-wing or rotary aircraft
- Three years of CV or V-22 experience or one year of documented recent (within the past three years) depot level or manufacturing experience.
- Extensive working knowledge using technical publications, bulletins, diagrams, ground support equipment, and precision tools in accordance with the Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM)
- Ability to pass a drug and background screening
- This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration
