Analytic Tradecraft Specialist

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Cherokee Analytics is seeking an Analytic Tradecraft Specialist to support the Office of Naval Intelligence's advanced analytic project functions including data science, analytic tool development, analytic methodology, analytic tradecraft, and program management.

Analytic Tradecraft Specialist Responsibilities Include:

  • Evaluates a sampling of finished intelligence products, including cyber intelligence products for the application of IC Analytic Tradecraft Standards and compliance with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 203 series.
  • Develops metrics, presents findings, and offers recommendations to the Government for improvement.
  • Develops and implements self-assessment measures to minimize subjective variations in the data collected.
  • Identifies significant strengths, weaknesses, trends, gaps, and any other notable features of analytic tradecraft in the intelligence production evaluated.
  • Assists the Government to improve the rigor of its evaluation methods and enhance the integrity of the product evaluation process.
  • Supports the development and delivery of tradecraft evaluation training and assist in the development of tradecraft policy and analytic guidance.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Analytic Tradecraft Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Active TS/SCI
  • In-depth understanding of ICD 203
  • Prior experience as an analyst at a strategic all source IC agency or as a product evaluator at ODNI
  • Desired to have eight (8) years of related experience with at least a portion of the experience within the last two (2) years.
  • Desired to have a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Comprehensive mission knowledge and skills that affirms completion of all developmental training and experiences for the Analytic Tradecraft Specialist position.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced.
  • Ability to structure analytic questions based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives from other analysts, organizations, and intelligence disciplines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence.
  • Demonstrates ability to guide teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
