Job Description

The O'Fallon Master Scheduler interfaces with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Customer Service/Sales to develop and implement optimized production schedules for all operating lines at the O'Fallon and co-manufacturer sites. These plans must meet changing customer requirements and yet provide enough response time to Manufacturing and suppliers while maintaining target inventory levels. The Master Planner will work closely with Customer Service/Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing on key planning issues, preparation of various manufacturing reports and assist in the management of daily shipping flow. A successful Master Planner will be adept at data analytics, a strong leader across functions, exhibit a problem-solving mindset and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize both manual and ERP system to produce daily and weekly schedule for each production line, including liquids, the dryers and dry blending.
  • Work with Plant Buyers to ensure stocks and supplies are on hand for required production.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Track performance to schedule; make necessary modifications as required to additional orders or changes in inventory levels. Report performance metrics such as pounds produced to schedule and number of changes to original schedule.
  • Coordinate production schedules and shipping and receiving schedules with Supervisors and Distribution Specialist.
  • Use lean manufacturing techniques coupled with data driven decision making to exceed customer on-time delivery standards.
  • Interface with sales and customer service to challenge, understand and accept customer forecasts.
  • Understand the demand plan across sites and recommend changes to allocations among co-mans and North American sites to ensure manufacturing capabilities are utilized efficiently.
  • Responsible for scheduling liquid and dry transfers to and from AFB and Co-man locations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and three (3) or more years of related experience and/or training in production or production planning; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent data analytics skills to understand the complex correlation between demand plans, operational execution, supplier delivery accuracies and stock levels.
  • In depth knowledge of production scheduling and a strong background in business system and logistics required.
  • Advanced computer skills in Windows and Internet applications, as well as MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with peers, scientists, researchers, managers, customers and vendors as required.
  • Ability to muti-task and prioritize daily responsibilities.
  • Experience in Materials related capacity is a plus.
  • Ability to lead problem solving teams in groups as large as 5-10 people.
