Intellectual Property Counsel 4

The Legal Group protects us against risks and provides the framework for our ethical andcompliant global business practices, enabling Lam to effectively navigate the landscape ofthe semiconductor industry. Their global government affairs team is responsible for advocatingon behalf of Lam with public policymakers.

Strategizing and executing Lam's IP strategy, program, and policies in a cross-functional team environment for Lam's equipment and process technologies. You will be working with RF, chemistry, physics, software, mechanical, and electrical engineering technologies. Duties include:

• Collaborating across the broader Legal team to address IP issues in transactions, agreements and disputes.
• Managing Lam's patent portfolios across one or more business organizations in the US and internationally.
• Managing adversarial work - freedom to operate, non-infringement, opposition, litigation etc. - including risk assessments and IP evaluation.
• Managing outside counsel, where appropriate, to execute and effect Lam's IP strategy.
• Managing work originating primarily out of Etch Product Group (with emphasis on RF technologies), Lam India, and Supply Chain.

• Be a registered patent attorney, and one who wants to grow into a multi-faceted IP counselor.
• Have excellent interpersonal English-language communication skills: written, oral and presentation and be able to distill and communicate the essence of complex IP matters.
• Have excellent legal and analytical skills coupled with a good business sense. A strong technical background is essential.
• Be hard-working, dedicated, and motivated with a strong team-oriented approach. We are too close a team to accommodate 'lone wolves.'
• Be willing to do some traveling to Lam locations outside the U.S.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders outside the U.S.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines. Able to handle pressure.
• Preferably have experience supporting cross-functional teams and supporting/developing IP programs in a corporate environment.
• Be intellectually curious, creative, innovative, accessible and approachable.
• Not have 'sharp elbows!' We are a co-operative group and will not tolerate people who aren't team players. There are no exceptions!

• bbbbbb2+ years of patent experience, J.D. or equivalent, U.S. Patent Bar and California bar admission or having the qualifications to be registered as in-house counsel in California.
• Background or experience in the semiconductor equipment and/or semiconductor industry with an ability to understand advanced semiconductor fabrication technologies including etch, deposition, and RF.
• B.S. in a semiconductor related discipline: Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry preferred.
• Position is located in Fremont, California with hybrid work flexibility.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
