We are seeking an experienced Advanced Cardiac Sonographer Educator and Quality Coordinator to join our dynamic cardiology team. This dual-role position focuses on education, quality improvement, and clinical excellence in echocardiography. You will be responsible for training sonographers, ensuring adherence to best practices, and leading quality initiatives to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required, Graduate of a two (2) year Allied Health Training Program, Ultrasound Technology preferred.
  • Bachelors program in health science (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) or graduate of an accredited program in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) preferred.
  • 6 years or more experience inpatient/outpatient cardiac ultrasound. 10 years preferred.
  • 2 years of education experience required.
  • New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (NMRTT)
  • Current BLS required
  • Required credential(s): American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) (AE)
    Or Cardiovascular Credentialing Internal (CCI) Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RSC)
  • Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS)
  • NM Radiography Tech


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs for new and existing cardiac sonographers.
  • Provide ongoing professional development, including competency assessments and hands-on instruction.
  • Stay current with advancements in echocardiography and ensure staff are trained in the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership to enhance echocardiography education programs.
  • Quality Coordination & Improvement:
  • Monitor and evaluate echocardiography studies to ensure compliance with ASE, IAC, and industry standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide feedback to sonographers to improve accuracy and image optimization.
  • Lead accreditation and regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Analyze imaging data, identify trends, and implement process improvements for enhanced patient outcomes
