Job Summary

Lead role in practice acquisitions for the Accounting Department. Responsible for multiple project type activities across the system. Position interacts with all levels of management to provide analysis, research, and recommend process improvements for the achievement of the System financial goals and to support the organization's strategic plan.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares all sales tax filings and business personal property tax filing throughout the organization.

  • Completes all escheatment filings and coordinates with both the 3rd party vendor and state regarding filings.

  • Leads accounting efforts for new practice acquisition. Meets with various physician practice leaders to understand specifics of acquisition. Evaluates new accounts receivable/accounting systems to develop processes to integrate non-EPIC and all other financial information to the general ledger and financial reports. Once practice operations are streamlined, transitions this work to Financial Analyst for standard journal entry recording.

  • Interacts with outside auditors and participates in audit workpaper preparation; provides access to the general ledger and other accounting records as required.

  • Attends meetings and participates on committees relative to EPIC, Physician Business Office, and Corporate Banking. Represents the department and leads follow-up discussion among the Accounting Department and addresses process changes as necessary.

  • Coordinates the annual inventory audit for all locations and prepares relevant reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting and external audit firm.

  • Performs other projects as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Experience - Five (5) years of accounting or finance experience
