Position Summary

The Learning Specialist will provide part-time, on-call
administrative support for the setup, maintenance, and monitoring of
educational activities related to Medical Spanish education at the HSC. This
role ensures the effective coordination and delivery of program initiatives to
support students, faculty, and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Educational Administration: Set up, maintain, and
    monitor educational activities related to Medical Spanish education, including
    in person and online education , assessments, and training sessions within HSC.
  • Assessment Coordination: Organize and oversee the
    scheduling, proctoring, and evaluation of Medical Spanish assessments and
    records to ensure educational outcomes.
  • Resource Management: Prepare and distribute
    educational materials, manage program resources, and ensure that all program
    needs are met effectively.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate
    and up-to-date records of program activities and assessment results, and assist
    in preparing reports for program evaluation as well as financial records
  • Communication and Outreach: Respond to inquiries,
    coordinate communication with participants, and promote program initiatives to
    increase awareness and participation.

Schedule:
This is a .25 FTE part-time, on-call position with flexible hours based
on program needs.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Spanish, Linguistics, or a related
    field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is required.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication
    skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage on-call
    responsibilities effectively.
  • Experience in educational program coordination,
    particularly in language instruction or assessment.
  • Previous experience with UNM educational and
    administrative system, preferred
