TITLE: Distribution Center Manager

LOCATION: Houston, TX

POSITION REPORTS TO: Area Business Manager

SCHEDULE: TBD; some overtime and weekends may be required

WAGES: Salary based, and commensurate with skills and experience

Job Objective: Responsible for oversight of a distribution center including leading local operations teams to ensure the facility achieves optimal operational and financial performance. This role focuses on tactical execution to drive operational efficiency, execution, and cost management, as well as continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Champion a data driven approach to improve warehouse operations, inventory management, and overall operations within the distribution center thru streamlined workflows, automation, improved efficiency and reduced operational costs

* Ensure operations teams are following standardized processes and best practices for warehouse and distribution center operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy, while ensuring environmental and associate safety

* Fully utilize technology and automation to streamline distribution center operations, improve workflows, and effectively manage labor costs for drivers, warehouse staff, and operations teams

* Champion the driver performance program locally, including ensuring adherence to processes which drive measurement tools for the program, as well as providing feedback and coaching sessions to drivers who aren't meeting safety or efficiency performance expectations

* Collaborate with key internal stakeholders regularly to ensure alignment, assess district distribution center performance versus metrics, and solution improvements as needed

* Ensure distribution center is achieving performance criteria on KPIs measuring warehouse and distribution center operations efficiency, inventory management, delivery accuracy, and adherence to service-level agreements

* Oversee and ensure availability of distribution center operations resources throughout emergency response events

* Responsible for the safe operation of the terminal including conducting regular safety meetings, enforcement of DOT compliance and holding associates accountable to all company policies and procedures

* Work with centralized fleet team to ensure compliance with preventative maintenance program and timely repairs on all rolling stock assets

* Management of distribution center to established labor metrics

* Achievement of performance criteria for KPIs pertaining to distribution center operations efficiency and OPEX management, inventory management, delivery accuracy, and adherence to service-level agreements

* Operational cost management (labor & non-labor) performance to plan for distribution center

* Performance to company EBITDA budget

* Lead team of operations associates (drivers, warehouse, service techs, etc.) responsible for inventory receipt, integrity & reconciliation, and last mile delivery from the distribution center to fuel & non-fuel customers

* Oversee local operations associates who perform tasks in support of centralized supply chain team and hub & spoke model for the network, including responsibilities related to repackaging, IsoClean, and internal stock transfers (STOs), ensuring prioritization of both internal & external customers

* Collaborate with sales leadership to support organic growth initiatives and achieve local sales objectives

* Provide coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities for direct and indirect reports

* Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

* Other tasks as assigned by manager

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

* Must be local (live within 60 miles or location), willingness to work in office

* 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in fuel and non-fuel distribution with a focus on operations

* 3+ years history of managing operations teams

* Demonstrated success in collaborating with sales leadership to drive and exceed growth objectives

* Experience with change management in both organizational communication and tactical execution

* Strong knowledge of ERP systems, business processes, and order management software

* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

* Exceptional communication skills to inform and influence at all levels internally and externally. Must promote a collaborative environment where success is defined by effective team leadership

* Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve shared goals

* Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills

* Ability to travel as needed, mainly in support of emergency response efforts

* Experience managing bulk and packaged petrochemical products
