What You'll Do in This Position Responsible for the organization, development, implementation, maintenance and accountability of financial planning and analysis designed to provide management with the total capability of maintaining planning, scheduling, financial analysis throughout the life cycle of a very complex or unique project or program. Under minimal supervision: - Performs financial activities with a proficient ability and knowledge in the development of financial plans and reports on a periodic or ad hoc basis - Regularly develops, establishes and continuously improves financial procedures, analysis and reporting - Responds to questions regarding financial issues by possessing knowledge of activities and transactions which form the basis of financial results - Prepares and presents financial information in appropriate format to management - Analyzes variances in actual expenditures against budgetary plans, and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to management - Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports including analyses, forecasts, and spend plans - Assemble, analyze, interpret information and apply practical knowledge to create innovative solutions to resolve complex business issues. - Analyzes current financial trends and identifies potential problem areas - Provide functional guidance, technical direction and training to other financial personnel. - Understands the business environment and the operations of the area being supported. - Develop costing rates, explain costing rates for the budget process, maintain rates in PeopleSoft and analyze pool variances (Assigned Overhead and Service Pools) - Perform extensive analysis of various business operations to ascertain funding limitations and execute appropriate cost controls; identify productivity and financial issues; design highly integrated financial controls; and create cost effective processes to enhance productivity. - Prepare and present financial information as appropriated to departmental management. -Understands CAS / FAR principles
Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. Qualifications We Require High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential
Qualifications We Desire -Undergraduate bachelor's degree in accounting or finance -Requires proficiency in the use of automated accounting and planning systems as tools for performing required duties. -Possesses strong personal computer skills to include MS Office and MS Teams. -Candidate must have moderate level Microsoft Excel experience to include writing/editing complex macro's and formula development. -Demonstrate analysis and/or Analytics experience with little oversight to include deep data analysis to find issues, and root causes. -Ability to handle journal uploads and customer distributions for large sum contracts. -Demonstrate ability to work independently with little oversight, collaborate with employees from outside their organization and present data/reports. -Understand pools, rates, and base and how they relate to one another. - Experience with Peoplesoft - Financials/ Procurement a plus.
