DLZ Corporation has an IT DevOps Technician

opportunity primarily supporting our Eastern Michigan offices with additional support to other DLZ staff or offices as needed. This is an in-office position, based out of our Lansing, Detroit, Waterford, or Melvindale, MI offices.
This role will provide local Operational Support for Eastern MI offices and software development, primarily focusing on automation/self-service, reporting and analytics, and AI. This includes identifying, implementing, developing, and supporting self-service tools and dashboards for statistical reporting of software licenses, management information, and support statistics.
The operational support aspects of this role include providing in-person IT Support for Eastern MI office staff and potentially other offices as necessary to cover projects or staff leave.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Advocate:
    Define metrics with others in IT to measure customer needs and satisfaction and develop the necessary tools, technologies, documentation, training and reporting to improve DLZ staff services and efficiency.
  • Tool Development:
    Develop software solutions or tools to address identified needs, resolve inefficiencies, and address environmental or other challenges. Coordinate improvement ideas and projects with coworkers and provide training for released tools.
  • Collaboration with IT Team:
    Coordinate and collaborate with IT staff and the CAD Manager to implement software tools/automation to improve the stability of the work environment, resolve issues, or provide environmental improvements.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    Track and analyze support metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Develop and run projects to enact system or process improvements, including management reports and self-service tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related degrees or experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - communicating effectively with clients, vendors, and co-workers to understand and define needs and requirements to develop projects.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to regional offices (mileage reimbursed at Federal Rate).
  • Strong interpersonal skills - written & verbal - gathering requirements, creating documentation, and giving instructions.
  • Desired Skills/ Experience - Workstation and Server administration (Hyper-V/VMware), Active Directory Group Policy Objects, MSSQL Server Admin, Reporting Services, and Analysis Services, Power BI Reporting, .NET, Docker, PowerShell and/or Python Scripting.
