Position Summary

The Division of Women's Mental Health, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City seeks a full-time Mental Health Provider in the Women's Mental Health @Ob/Gyn service. This position will have onsite presence at 1111 Westchester, Westchester, NY & Columbia University Irving Medical Center in NYC.

The successful applicant will play a key role in shaping our integrated, insurance -based, mental health service via the provision evidenced-based psychotherapies for patients in the department. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in women's mental health across the life course and/or experience with a perinatal population; have significant psychotherapy experience as well as an investment in the practice of it. The program currently consists of 14 providers across the different mental health disciplines: psychologists, licensed social workers, LMHC, and psychiatric nurse practitioners. The position is available immediately.

Responsibilities

• Providing short-term psychotherapeutic treatments (up to six-months postpartum when needed) for patients across the life course with a wide range of mental health issues.
• Collaborating with the Division Senior Leadership to implement new initiatives and build the program.
• Collaborating with other team members including administrative staff, medical students, residents, fellows, psychology and social work trainees and research staff.
• Participating in peer psychotherapy supervision.
• Providing supervision to trainees.
• Documenting in the medical record and entering, as appropriate, charges for encounters.
• Complying with all HIPAA Regulations, as well as compliance & safety guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field, plus 3 years of experience.
• LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor).
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to direct work, drive change and effectively collaborate.

Preferred Qualifications

• OBGYN/women's health experience preferred.
• 2-4 years recent psychotherapy experience with individual supervision.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
