Job Overview

The Marketing and Communications Intern will play a vital role in supporting the organization's brand advertising, media relations, digital communications, and internal communications efforts. This role provides hands on experience in content creations, in professional writing, internal and external communication, digital marketing, and creative services that reflects our mission and engages various audiences, including community partners, media, and staff. The intern will collaborate closely with the Marketing Communications team on projects such as social media campaigns, press releases, and internal communications.

Shift: Days. Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. Hybrid (Remote: Monday, Thursday, Friday. In Office: Tuesday, Wednesday)

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in copywriting, journalism, marketing, public relations, communications, English, or a related field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • Supports the Marketing and Communications managers on special projects and regularly communicates with the leads to provide updated status on all projects.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor analysis, and target audience insights to inform marketing strategies.
  • Supports the development and execution of marketing materials such as flyers, posters, and digital graphics under the guidance of the marketing team.
  • Collaborates with team members to brainstorm and implement creative ideas that align with our brand messaging and values.
  • Plans and manages project schedules, milestones, and deliverables using project management tools and methodologies. Allocates and optimizes resources across multiple concurrent projects. Proactively identifies and mitigates project risks and issues.
  • Learns and adheres to brand standards and guidelines while contributing to projects.
  • Helps coordinate and promote organizational events through digital platforms.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor analysis, and target audience insights to inform marketing strategies. Provides general administrative support to the marketing team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining marketing collateral, and organizing digital files.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $31,255.31 to $46,882.96
Hourly Salary Range: $15.03 to $22.54
