The Senior Internal Controls Analyst is responsible for assisting in the Company's SOX plan initiatives in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act, including the review, testing, analysis, evaluation, and conclusions concerning the design and effectiveness of the Company's internal controls over financial reporting. The Senior Internal Controls Analyst will also be responsible for assisting in the reporting of findings, deficiencies, and remediation plans identified through process monitoring, internal reviews, or external examinations. This position interacts with mid- to senior-level management to discuss audit findings and recommendations intended to improve business practices.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of company-wide and business process risk assessments to evaluate and assess the impact results may have on the internal control environment
  • Actively collaborate with process owners and stakeholders regularly to assist with the evaluation and rationalization of processes and controls to identify risks and ensure adequate design and effectiveness
  • Identifies, recommends, and assists in implementation of leading practices to enhance the control environment and improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Identifies and evaluates control deficiencies including quantitative and qualitative impacts and root causes, and work with colleagues to monitor and ensure the development and timely implementation of remediation plans. Assist with the segregation of duties conflict analysis and support timely remediation
  • Participates in scoping, process flow mapping/reviews, walkthroughs and key controls testing. Assist with the evaluation, development, and maintenance of internal controls program infrastructure
  • Assist with the timely and accurate development and maintenance of high-quality documentation of internal controls and process improvements including scoping memos, process flowcharts/narratives, risk control matrices, gap logs, and comprehensive test plans and results
  • Maintain knowledge and expertise of current Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, internal controls and risk management leading practices and techniques. Review relevant current events, trends, risk reports, etc. and summarize/communicate to stakeholders through periodic updates
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required; Professional Certification Preferred, (Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, etc
  • 3+ years of relevant in-depth Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), ICFR compliance environments/functions
  • Experience in developing and assisting with implementation of multi-disciplinary project plans a plus
  • Proven experience evaluating and advising on effectiveness of complex and subjective business process designs, policies, procedures, reporting, and risk and controls reviews in multiple disciplines affecting financial reporting
  • Hands-on experience in identifying, evaluating, and monitoring risks, process analysis, internal controls identification and rationalization for a multinational organization
  • Experience in documenting and updating process flowcharts, using related tools and data analytics
  • Experience with IT General Controls would be a plus

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
