Job Description

The Partner Manager - Distributor develops and implements market access strategies and plans to grow market share through distribution. You will establish and maintain relationships with distributors at all levels of their organization to ensure efficient utilization of resources to grow the business and ensure alignment. You will coach and challenge our distributors to evolve by developing their value-added services business and increasing Annual Recurring Revenue growth at customers.

This position will be based in the greater Chicago are and will report to our Sales Manager, Territory.

Responsibilities - What You'll Do:

  • Formulate business strategies to grow overall sales and market share through distribution.
  • Coordinate activities and resource utilization within the sales organization.
  • Implement and measure all Rockwell Automation market access commercial programs.
  • Act as the single point of contact for each assigned distributor.
  • Manage the development of assigned distributors and their performance.
  • Analyze account requirements and develop account penetration plans with the distributor to increase market share.
  • Resolve market access issues resulting in conflict (i.e. APR violations)
  • Measure distributor performance and implements distributor performance improvement programs.
  • Facilitate the implementation of new product launches and promotional programs through the direction of all market access team resources, including the distributor's personnel.
  • Take an active role in coaching distributor personnel and evaluating their competency in the support of Rockwell Automation products and services.
  • Assure that we have a consistent, high level of distributor capability to serve all customers in the assigned territory.
  • Ensure familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental).

The Essentials - You Will Have

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years' experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visa, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel up to 50% to customers and /or distributor sites (day travel).

The Preferred -You Might Have:

  • 5+ years of prior experience in sales, industrial distribution, systems integration or an engineering firm
  • Experience selling in industrial market, electrical distribution, Services or Software (Annual Recurring Revenue models such as SaaS, Information Solutions, etc.)
  • Experience driving business strategies with Industrial Distribution Leadership
  • Experience working with all levels of an industrial automation plant (customer) including CXO's, VPs, plant engineers and OEM machine builders
