Position: Machinist
Location: Frenchtown, NJ
Shift: Shift: 1st 7:00 am- 3:00 pm Monday - Friday *Overtime and Saturdays may be required.
Wage: $30.82 hr.

Reporting directly to the manager, as a Machinist you will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining machine components to support our production operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, tool sharpening, and blueprint reading, along with the ability to fabricate parts from samples without drawings. This role is critical in supporting the continuous operation of our facility by ensuring all necessary machine components are available and functioning properly.

What you will be doing:

  • Fabricate machine parts and shafts to support equipment repairs and upgrades.
  • Sharpen and replace broken tooling to maintain efficient machine operation.
  • Operate machine shop equipment, including lathes, Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, bandsaws, and bench grinders.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to fabricate components accurately from drawings.
  • Fabricate machine components from sample pieces when no drawings are available.
  • Maintain an inventory of tooling, identify shortages, and provide restocking lists.
  • Replace stripped bolts and hardware on tool holders to maintain functionality.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized machine shop area.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Have proven experience as a Machinist, preferably in a manufacturing or maintenance setting.
  • Proficient in operating lathes, Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, bandsaws, and bench grinders.
  • Have strong blueprint reading skills and experience fabricating parts from technical drawings.
  • Can fabricate components from sample parts without drawings.
  • Experienced in sharpening and replacing tooling.
  • Have basic mechanical skills, including replacing bolts and hardware on tool holders.
  • Obtain strong organizational skills for managing inventory and restocking needs.
  • Has a knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a machine shop environment.
  • Obtained a high school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Have welding and metal fabrication experience.
  • Familiar with CNC machining is a plus.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance practices.
  • The position requires standing, walking, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Can work in with exposure to noise, grease, and metal shavings in a machine shop environment.
  • Understand that proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
